Exhibition commemorated the honorary citizen of the city

Hajdúhadház.

In the storm of June two years ago, the memorial house of painter Imre Égerházi (the city’s native honorary citizen) suffered damage and became life-threatening. For this reason, the paintings, and personal belongings he had previously donated to the city had to be removed, of which a memorial exhibition was opened on November 23 at the Földi János Primary School.

In his opening, Mayor Dénes Csáfordi drew attention to the example he had left for posterity with the work of Imre Égerházi. In his extraordinary opening, the fellow painter Elek Szilágyi shared his personal experiences with the audience, reminding them that the legacy is already of great value and will be worth even more over time.
